Our first Holy Baby! DVD, Holy Baby! Seven Prayers in Seven Languages, like others that will follow, take advantage of the tremendous learning potential of infants that science is only beginning to discover. Our variety of familiar and original music has been composed to appeal to infants, including an original arrangement of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" - first scored by Catholic composer and child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Created for children ages birth to 5 years, Holy Baby! Seven Prayers in Seven Languages features seven foundational prayers of the Rosary in seven major languages of the world—English, French, Spanish, Latin, German, Portuguese and Vietnamese. Using the menu system, viewers may listen to the prayers in a specific language or the default mixed-language track. The DVD was inspired by our Holy Father and produced and released during the Year of the Rosary.

More than once, Holy Baby! has been called the “Catholic Baby Einstein.” While the prayers are being recited, a parade of delightful images of Catholic art and statuary, colorful toys and children at play keep the little ones watching. The program is hosted by Baby Scholastica, a fun 3-D cartoon character inspired by Saint Scholastica.

Archbishop Chaput has said Holy Baby! is “…an engaging, simple, vivid introduction to prayer for toddlers and young children. It’s beautifully done with age-appropriate songs and music. This is a wonderful aid for families who want to begin their children on a walk with the Lord.”

What we are hearing from pleased parents across the country confirm that our prayer tool is having the desired impact. Children, 2 years of age and younger, are requesting Holy Baby! time and again over other more secular programs such as Bob the Builder and Teletubbies. We have been told that the 30-minute program calms temper tantrums and soothes babies to sleep. Little ones are singing the songs and repeating phrases of the prayers while at play. One mother even called to say that her 2-year-old daughter came to the table after watching Holy Baby! and crossed herself first in English and then again in Spanish!

Future DVDs
Look for future Holy Baby! DVDs that are designed to help bring prayer into the homes of families with small children to catechize and educate infants and young children when their minds are most receptive to learning.

TRP is currently producing and plans a 2005 release of Holy Baby! Family Feast based on the prayers of the Eucharist.
